Dr. Jones is a radiation oncologist and palliative care clinician specializing in the treatment of patients with advanced and metastatic cancer with a focus on the use of radiotherapy to improve symptom control and quality of life at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate work and a Masters Degree in the History of Science at Harvard, attended medical school at New York University, completed residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and fellowship in palliative care at the Harvard palliative care program. His research encompasses three fundamental interests related to health outcomes in patients with advanced cancer:

  1. using radiotherapy and photodynamic therapy to improve symptoms, quality of life and overall functioning in patients with advanced and metastatic cancer.
  2. optimizing symptom management in patients with advanced and metastatic cancer receiving radiotherapy.
  3. enhancing communication between providers and patients/families living with advanced and metastatic cancer.
