Dr Winnie KW So is an Associate Professor of the Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor of Nursing at Deakin University, Australia in 1993, Master of Health Administration at the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1995 and Doctor of Philosophy at University of Colorado, United States in 2007. In summer 2009, Dr So visited Nursing, Melbourne School of Health Sciences of The University of Melbourne and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Australia for further post-doctoral research.

Her research area focuses on cancer prevention, symptom experience and management on cancer patients, supportive care needs of cancer survivors and evidence-based practice for improving quality of care. More than 150 papers were presented in referee journals, newsletters and conferences. She has been the member of various committees of the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) since 2004 and the Office Bearer of the Hong Kong Society for Nursing Education in 1998-2010. Recently, Dr So was elected as Board of Directors (communication) to serve the ISNCC and oncology nurses from all over the world.
