Blair Henry is a Senior Ethicist with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and he also has an academic position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Blair Henry worked for 10 years in the field of hospice and palliative care as a case manager for a home-based hospice organization, prior to completing his master in bioethics at the University of Toronto in 2002. Following this he went on to complete a post graduate fellowship in Clinical, Organizational, and Research Ethics in 2005-06 through the Joint Center for Bioethics at the University of Toronto which was followed by a Senior Fellowship in 2006-07. He completed his Doctorate in Bioethics degree through the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics at Loyola University in Chicago.
Mr. Henry’s is a founding member of the Quality Dying Initiate at Sunnybrook Health Sciences and leads quality dying reviews as part of a quality improvement initiative. He also has a strong academic interest in the field of empirical bioethics research, research ethics in emergency settings and at the end of life, and has served on several institutional research ethics boards.
